Masterclass with Patrick Bergeron September 17th 2024
Patrick Bergeron is an artist that works in film and visual arts.
He graduated as engineer and then moved towards creation after a job at the National Film Board of Canada. Since then, he shares his artistic career with his work in the digital visual effects industry. In this field, he has participated in projects like The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix. His art installations and experimental videos have been presented internationally in galleries and film festivals (South by Southwest, ARS Electronica, etc …).
Patrick’s intentions as an artist is located somewhere between a bygone past and a future that will never exist. His works do not shout out against injustice and do not denounce loud and clear. They are the reflection of his life, in voluntary simplicity, where activism is at the level of daily gestures.
In his artworks, he elaborates and studies the concepts of time, memory and movement. He is interested in the vegetal world, its cycles and the natural forces that interact with it. Each of his projects hides a technical challenge. The process and the steps to get to the final result are complex, but they are usually not displayed. In this world of automation, Patrick considers his work apart from the mainstream. He defines it as being at the inverse of “real time”.
Cost of Masterclass kr. 30000.- participants needs to bring their own computer.
Included in price light refreshments.
